I had the extreme pleasure to spend a Saturday afternoon in the back yard of my friend, Vonnie, and photograph her with her little pet family. Pet photography is really so much fun! They are natural hams, and wonderful models. Throw in a cool breeze and a couple glasses of wine...perfection!!

Meet Lana. The whole purpose of this session. Lana is a recent addition to Vonnie's family. She was a sweet little rescue from the Escambia County Animal Shelter. Poor Lana had been hit by a car and was to be euthanized if it wasn't for a shelter worker with a heart. When Vonnie first saw her she was in bad shape. Not walking, lethargic. But, none the less, it was love at first sight for Vonnie. And bless her for rescuing a little pound puppy.

And this is Otis. You may remember him from a previous session. He is small but mighty. And not afraid to be vocal about it. Little darlin'.

And this is Vonnie. Very deep in thought. And being beautiful in the process!

6

The majority of the afternoon consisted of Lana digging. And digging. And digging. That girl loves to dig. Hence the dirty little nose in many pictures!

7

Enter Pumpkin. The most photogenic cat on earth. The warm sun just enveloped her in a blanket of gold.

Vonnie's yard is interesting to say the least. There is a beautiful birdhouse that was grounded, in a wonky manner, after the last storm. Vonnie liked the wonkiness of it all and is going to let it like that for now. And then there is the boy and girl statue. All cute and sweet until you realize the girl is headless an there is the head nearby resting in a bed of pine needles. So much mystery.

Vonnie. Chit chatting and being her animated self. She is so much fun.

16

Ahhhh....the love. It is so obvious.

And this little toy was amazing. It sounded exactly like a little pig snorting. I going to find one for my Chance.

19

Mud crusted, happy pup from all the digging she could handle.

And this one just gets to me. That happy face. Just look at that happy face!!

One of my most favorites from the session. Their expressions are perfect.

Yeah. The last picture on the right in this set...Lana is eating the stick. Awesome.

And here's Holly. A big floppy ball of soft purring fur.
